Dr. Beck is Associate Professor, Coordinator of Environmental Science and Policy and Director of the Professional Science Master’s in Environmental Management and Sustainability at St. Edward’s University. Dr. Beck’s research and teaching interests focus on policies that integrate environment and development and recently has begun examining issues related to campus sustainability. In addition to Environmental Policy courses, he teaches Survey of Africa for GLST majors. For the past four summers, he has led the EcoLead program to Costa Rica and has also taught in Kenya, France and this summer will teach Environment and Development in Vina del Mar, Chile. He is also developing a field course for the graduate program in Costa Rica. Originally from Southern California, he has spent five years working in Kenya, and has been a consultant with the World Wildlife Fund and the World Bank.
