Former Commissioner Bart Chilton of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has served in government for three decades—working on Capitol Hill in the House and Senate, and serving in the Executive Branch during the Clinton, Bush and Obama Administrations. At the CFTC (first nominated by President Bush and then by President Obama), he served as the Chairman of the Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee, and subsequently of the Global Markets Advisory Committee. He has been a steadfast proponent of a market-based approach to addressing climate change. He is a frequent contributor to business television programs and regularly quoted in the financial press. He currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor at the global law firm DLA Piper.
