Garrett Boone

Mr. Garrett Boone co-Founded Container Store Inc., in 1978 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. In 2006, Mr. Boone co-founded Texas Business for Clean Air. Mr. Boone served as the Manager of Montgomery Ward from 1969 to 1973 and Manager of Storehouse from 1973 to 1977. From 1977 to 1978, he was self employed as an Independent Furniture Designer. He served as an Advisory Director of Earful of Books, Inc. since July 6, 2001 and its Director from 1994 to June 2001. 

Mr. Boone serves as the Chairman Emeritus at The Container Store Inc. Mr. Boone served as a Co-Chairman at The Container Store Inc until July 2007. Mr. Boone is active on the Boards of Directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, where he concluded a successful $28 million capital campaign as chairman. He has been a Director at Principal Solar, Inc. since September 2014. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board of Satori Capital, L.L.C. He served as a Director of the National Council of Young Men’s Christian Associations of the United States of America. He is on the Boards of Directors of The Woodall Rogers Park Foundation, Trinity Trust Foundation, Trinity Commons Foundation, The Boone Family Foundation, and TreeHouse, Inc.

He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Texas Women Ventures Fund, LLP. He serves as a Member of the advisory boards for The Dallas Women’s Foundation and Teach for America. He is an advocate for public education and serves on the Dallas ISD Star Commission to share business best practices with DISD. In 2007 Mr. Boone was First runner-up for Texan of the Year awarded by The Dallas Morning News. Mr. Boone was inducted into the Retailing Hall of Fame in 2006. Mr. Boone received a Masters Degree from University of Texas in 1969 and a Degree from Rice University, Houston, Texas in 1966.
